Break My Heart for What Breaks Yours

Giphy

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

We love because he first loved us.

If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."

1 John 4: 18-20

I saw an Instagram post that ended her top 3 things that lead her to God on her runs with the joke "I pray for those I pass". I laughed remembering the great pride I get in passing an electric Citi bike with a standard one. 🤣🤣🤣

But it also reminded me of how many of us apply this to our Christian journey, scoffing at people as we lap them, judging every one as if we never struggled. "If they hadn't done this", "if they were kinder", "if they... if they... if they..." Look to your left or right, in your home, at work, on your walk through the city, I'm sure you'll see someone struggling in need of some love. There are so many dying inside silently, nobody noticing, been there 🙋. Love is a verb; it is a choice followed by action. Look to the one who loved you first to break your heart for what breaks his and see where he takes ya.
